Investment Banks Set to Report Big 4th Quarter
November 14, 2006 at 4:33 PM
It seems that every quarter the leading American investment banks and brokers (LEH, GS, MER, MS, BSC) report earnings, their shares rise only to drift back down until the next reporting period. It would seem this pattern is about to repeat itself yet again this quarter with this quarter's (year end) earnings reports which will start mid-December. See this AP article from Forbes.com.

Disclosures and Confessions: I own LEH, MS, both directly and indirectly as part of executive compensation plans. I have traded MS, LEH, MER and GS in the past two years. Until 2003, I was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley where I am vested in the pension, deferred compensation and executive compensation plans. From 2003 to 2005 I was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers. Other than as a past employee and related employee plans, I currently have no business relationship with any of the firms mentioned.
