Trade Log: Recent Trades

Somebody asked, "Hey Dave what are you buying lately?"  Here is my answer, I haven't blogged the reasons for these trades and I should but I've been busy on magazine issues and last weekend's birthday bash.  But here's a log for the last couple weeks.

Bought (Initial) Alcoa (AA) at $28.04  - ouch!  I thought all the bad news was already in the price  I'm starting to like industrials.  I'll have to pick up more if it drops. (this is why you never buy all at once)

Bought (additional) Seaspan (SSW) at $22.05 - if oil is cheap they are still going to have to ship it and ship everything.  Also, these guys keep growing.  I like the REIT format of this company.

Bought (additional) Vanguard Pacific ETF (VPL) at $63.75 - this super low cost ETF is my favorite way to play Asia.

Bought (additional) Plum Creek Timber (PCL) at $34.46 - just adding a bit.  Stock is a bit rich so I'll wait to really buy more.

Bought (additional) Deutche Telecom (DT) at $15.58 - So cheap.  Cheapest Telecom stock I can find.

Bought (additional) Seaspan (SSW) at $22.21

(what did I sell? - employee stock of my old employers - just a bit though)
